FMD

• • Highly infectious, persist in contaminated fodder for up to 1M
  • Transmission: direct or indirect contact (droplets), animate vectors (humans), airborne in temperate zones (up to 60km in over land, 300 km sea)
  • Humans = limited effect:
  • • Mostly type O > C > A.
    • Incubation period : 2-6 days
    • Symptoms: uncomfortable tingling blisters on hands, fever, sore throat and blisters on feet and mouth/tongue.
    • Recovery one week after the last blister formation
