Why MNK-1 and PRAK-1 ?

• similarities :

  • present in platelets, same basal and activation profile
  • translocation after extracellular stimulus (thrombin)
  • complexes with other proteins ->substrate binding
  • timing of activation vs phopshorylation of cPLA2 on Ser727 (!)
  • decreased phosphorylation when p38-2a,2b inhibitors
